This 5-day course - 30 hours - will empower you to develop your self-practice according to your Ayurvedic constitution and expand your teaching skills to offer effective one-on-one coaching to your students.

 

It is accessible to those who have never studied Ayurveda, yet offers a revolutionary, easy-to-apply approach for the seasoned practitioners. Whether you are a yogi looking into deepening your experience or a teacher seeking to broaden your scope of practice, this training is just for you!

Naturopath and Ayurvedic Teacher Kimmana Nichols is the third generation from an entire family of healers and educators.

 

Qualified in over 20 modalities of bodywork and medicine, his passion for healing arts and teaching has awakened a wave of Vedic Wisdom changing lives.

 

He co-created ThaiVedic Systems to merge his modern understandings from massage and touch modalities, with the holistic wisdom and diagnostic system of Ayurveda.

João Paulo Pereira

 

João Paulo Pereira is the founder of the BASA Yoga Method and has been teaching yoga since 2001.

 

The belief that intense disciplined practice is best balanced with play and his unique fusion of breath, awareness, strength, and alignment (BASA) have offered his students a dynamic experience to connect to the living tradition of yoga.

 

João began his training in Brazil at Universidade de Yôga and in India with Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute. He has trained extensively in the energetics of Hatha Yoga, Pilates, AcroYoga, Yoga Therapy, Shou Shu, among other methods.

  • Introduction to the Ayurvedic 5 Element System and how to apply the system for balancing lifestyle, diet and Yoga Therapy.

  • How to define the strengths and weakness of each form of Yoga by its elemental dominance.

  • Diagnose an individual’s state of dosha (disease tendency), and which techniques are best to balance each dosha.

  • How to assess and treat the Ayurvedic tri-gunas; known as tamas (stagnation and delusion), rajas (action and desire), and sattva (peace and harmony). How to integrate diets, lifestyle and yoga practices which promote sattva. When sattva dominates, our internal life compass returns to accuracy and self-healing becomes effortless.

  • Meditations, breath practices, and asana to balance the three Ayurvedic disease tendencies.

  • Experience yoga therapy for the feet, spine, hips, and legs.

  • Emphasis in this module is on reawakening our intuition and ability to be guided by spirit. We focus on treating Vata, the source of almost all disease; through meditation, positive psychology, breath practices, and grounding asana.

IPHM Accreditation

Our training is recognised by the IPHM, enabling students to receive insurance and practice in many countries around the globe. 

Upon completion, students will be able to

  • Diagnose a person individually using Ayurvedic principles.

  • Know which yoga techniques are more suited to themselves and students.

  • Treat psychological imbalances and inspire spiritual fulfilment through individualised meditations, pranayamas, and ThaiVedic life coaching.

  • Qualified Asana teachers can  learn to use asana and movement therapies to help muscular and skeletal imbalances in the spine, hips and legs.

  • Receive a completion certificate from ThaiVedic Yoga which certifies students to share “ThaiVedic Inspired” meditations and lifestyle advice.

  • Further embody and perfect your skills by taking part in the “Healers Evolution Program”; where you can receive guidance and feedback on your sessions and ability to use the ThaiVedic system. This can qualify you for the title of  “ThaiVedic Meditation and Lifestyle Consultant” and a full Bronze Medallion ranking in the ThaiVedic Practitioner Directory.

Our Training Venue

Our 5-Day training will be held at Soul Yoga Studio in Santa Rosa. 

Nestled in the heart of California’s wine county, Santa Rosa is a perfect destination for combing nature with metropolitan luxury. The Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve, a majestic grove of ancient coastal redwood trees, is just a half an hour drive from downtown Santa Rosa.  Santa Rosa is also home to a number of beautiful, pedestrian-friendly shopping centers, complete with small shops, restaurants, and hotels.

Accomodation is not included, which is why the course cost is low.  We would like to allow for those living in the area to be able to commute: and those who do not live in the area to choose accomodation based on their own budget and needs.  There is plenty of free parking at the Yoga Centre.

The price is for tuition only, so transportation and food are also not included.

1. What is the ThaiVedic System?

2. Is accomodation and food included?

Accomodation is not included, which is why the course cost is low. We would like to allow for those living in the area to be able to commute: and those who do not to choose accomodation based on their own budget and needs. The price is for tuition only, so transportation and food are also not included.

 

3. Do I need Yoga experience to attend this training?

This training will teach an beginner friendly approach to the core concepts in Ayurvedic Medicine, in a very insighful way that makes it easy to apply to Yoga Therapies. Even though a little experience in yoga can be helpful, it is not necessary for participation, for both the seasoned practicioner and newbie alike will get a lot out of it.

4. What if I am not a teacher and just want to deepen my practice?

This training’s main focus is to instruct you on how to build one's personal practice in an individualized fashion according to the knowledge of Ayurveda. For those who already instruct, that will inevitably lead to great teaching. Regardless if you are on a personal quest to develop your personal practice or expand your teachings, you will emerge from this training with a deeper and more clear understanding of the Ayurvedic principles applied to Yoga Therapies.

6. Where should I stay if coming from out of town?

The hotel that is the closest to Soul Yoga is the Flaming Conference Resort and Spa. There are more budget options near downtown Santa Rosa, about 5 miles away. The studio is located in a very residential neighborhood, so AirBnB might be a good option shoud you wish to stay within walking distance from the venue. For those who are more adventurous, the beautiful Spring Lake Park has a

 

7. What should I bring?

Each day you should bring your yoga mat and a water bottle to stay hydrated. The weather in Santa Rosa is pretty hot during the Summer, so a sweat towel or a change of clothes can come in handy if you sweat a lot. It is Northern California, so layering your clothing is always a good idea, specially when the brisk ocean fog kicks in earlier in the afternoon.

 

8. Is there food near the studio?

Soul Yoga is conveniently located in a business complex featuring a handful of restaurant options.
