For the past 20 years Sebastian has been immersed in the learning and practice of Traditional Thai Massage and Thai Medicine; rooted in the Thai Element Theory and Buddhist principles of mindfulness, kindness, and compassion; studying with genuine Masters and lineage holders.
Sebastian is the co-founder of ThaiVedic International School of Holistic Healing, drawing wisdom from the traditions of Ayurveda, Traditional Thai Medicine, and Yoga Therapy. Based in Asia for the last 15 years, Sebastian travels around the world sharing his practice through sessions, classes, and workshops.
WHAT IS THAI ELEMENTS?
Thai Elements invokes the wisdom inherent in the natural Elements - Space, Wind, Fire, Water, Earth and Consciousness, as viewed in the Thai Tradition.
As an independent branch of ThaiVedic - an International School of Holistic Medicine - Thai Elements focuses on Thai Healing Arts, presenting aspects of the system of Thai Medicine as close to its original/traditional format as possible.
The aspiration is to present Thai Massage within the context of Traditional Thai Medicine in a way that honors lineage and tradition. Preserving the body of knowledge shared with me by genuine teachers and lineage holders.
THAI MASSAGE ORIGINS
Thai Massage has become an increasingly popular healing modality all around the world. Yet, to fully tap into its potential, power and effectiveness one needs to understand and apply it within the context of the medicinal system it came from- Traditional Thai Medicine.
Thai Massage is part of one of the five roots/sciences that make Traditional Thai Medicine. These sciences are:
• Medical Sciences
• Orthopedic Sciences
• Oracular Sciences
• Magic Sciences
• Buddhist Sciences
These Sciences are weaved together by Buddhist principles and Element theory creating a unique, comprehensive system of healing wisdom.
As a natural medicine, it uses the Thai Element theory to understand individuality and diagnose imbalances. As a spiritual practice it incorporates Buddhist principles and practices such as of Vipassana (insight) and the Four Brahamaviharas (Divine states of Mind)- Metta, Karuna, Mudita, Uppekha (loving kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy, equanimity).
Powerful stretches and deep acupressure are applied carefully along as a fluid mindful dance creating a relaxed supported body work that allows a profound sense of space and relaxation, congruence, alignment and therapeutic results.

Abhyasa Yoga Studio is located is centrally located right in the heart of Lisbon next to the Bairro Alto walking district. Easy to reach and an opportunity to enjoy central Lisbon's magical vibes by night.
SCHEDULE

Our classes at Abhyasa Yoga Studio will run from Aug 25 - 29th:
10:00 - 13:00
and
15:00 - 18:00
We will start class on the 25th August at 10am and finish at 6pm on August 29th. We ask attendance at all classes.
Lunch breaks and evenings will be your free time to eat and enjoy the many many restaurants and food options surrounding us.
ACCOMODATION
The price of this training only includes the course. We have decided to let students book their own accomodations as there is so many options around us in many budget ranges. We will be happy to assist with suggestions on where to stay; from hotels to airbnb; the training is in a very central location with many options.
