200 HOUR
HOLISTIC YOGA THERAPY TRAINING IN BALI
Jan 13 - Feb 9th , 2019
Advance your skills as a holistic therapist.
Train on the beautiful tropical island of Bali.
Course Overview
ThaiVedic 200hr Holistic Yoga Therapy Training Certification offers a revolutionary training; combining ancient wisdoms of Ayurveda, Yoga and Thai Massage with the most powerful holistic therapies of today.
This is different from a regular Yoga Teacher Training, as it equips you with skills to offer the most individualised and effective treatments and classes; allowing you to assess and treat based on spirituality, psychology, metabolism, nutrition, and structure.
Our courses are IPHM (International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine) certified. You will gain an internationally recognised qualification, enabling you to practice holistic medicine around the world*.
For your personal evolution, the 28 days training is an opportunity for you to immerse in an Ayurvedic self-care practice; supporting you for a transformative spiritual experience.
Who is This Training For?
-
Teachers, practitioners or therapists wanting to advance their professional skills. Although all knowledge is taught from an entry level and proceeds to advanced; complete beginners might find the curriculum and intensive learning style challenging if they do not have a present foundation in either yoga, Ayurveda, bodywork or other holistic therapies.
-
Individuals wishing to learn healing arts to help themselves and others. This is an education and training focused event; not a healing retreat. It is not ideal for those seeking a personalised healing treatment. For an event that is focused on YOU and your personal healing; check out Vitality Now Ayurvedic Detox Program led by our co-founder Kimmana Nichols.
-
Those who understand that yoga is far more than asana (physical postures and exercise), and wish to receive a holistic foundation in a variety of yogic practices including meditation, mantra, bandhas, and more.
-
Those wishing to practice therapy and help people while travelling to beautiful places. Our school is a registered training provider with IPHM (The International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine), and allows students to practice internationally. Although students can receive a Yoga Alliance 200hr qualification through attending our course, if you only wish to teach classes related to asana and yoga studios, there are other courses which may be more focused to your needs. Although we do teach Yoga Asana (poses); it is not the sole focus of the training. We focus on all aspects of yogic lifestyle and therapies. For a teacher training focused on Asana and Hatha Yoga, please see the Strength & Grace Yoga programs led by our co-founder Barbra Noh.
-
Those who understand that 200hrs of practice and training time will not make you a specialist or expert in the system. Although most participants will have developed life-changing skills and be able to help people as soon as they finish, the journey of mastery will happen over time and you will need to continue practising if you wish to be a specialist in any specific field.
-
Those who aspire to a growth mindset, who love learning and evolving; and are prepared to grow over time with a community which shares and supports your growth. Those who are people-focused and care about others, want to work with individuals and groups, and help the world by sharing practices that increase awareness and healing.
"Apart from being one of the greatest experiences I've ever had, I now sense deep gratitude in every bodywork session I give. Having a diagnosis-tool at hand and a clear structure in mind makes a big difference!"
~ Monika Kletzmayr

Our Serene Training Venue
Immerse Yourself in a Paradise
for Yoga and Healing
The 2019 Holistic Yoga Therapy Training in Bali will be held at Shanti Agung, in the east of Bali. Amid the coconut trees and set back a little from the black-sand beach at Jasri; Shanti Agung’s bright yellow house and friendly staff await. Shanti Agung was originally established as a yoga resort by Gwyn Williams and his wife, Gaia.
In 2008, Gwyn and Gaia decided to support the Komangs, a Balinese family, with the purchase of the small piece of land; creating a family home/yoga/healing centre for them overlooking the rice fields and the mighty Mount Agung. This served the dual purpose of bringing westerners to Bali to experience the richness of this simple fishing village and provided a home for the Komangs.
The recipe worked. Shanti Agung was born. Beautiful caring people, magical surrounds and divine spirit all aligned. The building of Shanti Agung has created an occupation for the Komangs, funded their daughter through nursing school and provided jobs for many locals over the past 7 years.
Daily Schedule
The daily course outline consists of three session blocks, where we align our activities with the ideal Ayurvedic routine (based on the location of the sun). Modern research has shown the many benefits of living according to nature's rhythm, and for 5,000 years Ayurveda has put a big emphasis on this.
First Session (06:00 - 08:00)
-
06:00 - 07:00 Mauna (silence), meditation, yoga and asana experience
-
07:00 - 08:00 Practice teaching and group workshop
Breakfast (in silence) (08:00 - 09:30)
Second Session (09:30 - 12:30)
Ayurveda or Yoga lectures and therapy practice
Lunch (12:30 - 13:30)
Third Session (15:30 - 18:30)
Ayurveda and Bodywork class
Dinner (18:00 - 19:00)
As the primary purpose of the Holistic Yoga Therapy Training is to awaken self-healing; there is a focus on practices which fine-tune your ability to understand the body’s natural guiding messages and intuitions. All classes throughout the training have this fundamental goal of enhancing self-awareness and empowering people to be their own healer. This frees the mind and body from imbalanced thoughts or movements which promote suffering and decay. When we are more self-aware, we are more able to help and heal ourselves, others, and the world.

F.A.Q.
1. Will there be a final examination at the end of the course? Written/practical?
The 200hr Holistic Yoga Therapy Training in Bali is a combination of our Level 1, 2, & 3 Bodywork; our Level 1, 2, & 3 Yoga Therapies; plus a 200hr Yoga Alliance certification.
The Yoga Alliance requirements are only that you attend the specific amount of hours in each subject; which will be covered through your attendance in the entire course. Our curriculum requires examination for each level, in order to receive the full qualification. Some is written and some is practical. Each level also requires home evolutions to be handed in if you want to have the highest ratings, showing that you have been able to apply the system in the real world with clients.
2. Will we get a certification directly after the Training to take home?
You will receive a "completion certificate" for each of the 6 modules which are covered in this training, and a certificate for the full 200hr; which can be used for Yoga Alliance. In total, you will receive 7 certificates, and with the yoga alliance qualification, you will be able to practice and receive insurance straight after the training. If however, you wish to be "fully certified" by ThaiVedic, you will need to show you have been able to use the knowledge with clients outside the training by going through the process we refer to as the "Healers Evolution Program". If you hand in the "Healers Evolutions" for each module, which is both practical and written, you will then receive feedback from the teacher and a "certified certificate" for that module. Some of the Gold Medallion modules will require a certain amount of hours, not just a one-off application of the system. Students are displayed on the ThaiVedic Practitioner directory according to their medallion ranking. We have chosen this system of grading because we know that 200hrs does not make an experienced healer and so we will prioritise the most experienced ThaiVedic therapists in each part of the world to represent the ThaiVedic community and our system. In the long-term, this will benefit all people involved in the ThaiVedic community, regardless of their level of qualification, because those experienced therapists will be creating the reputation for us all.
3. Do we need to bring any books or do we get manuals at the training?
We will provide manuals with all necessary information and a pdf of these manuals is available for pre-reading. There is also recommended reading for those students who wish to go deeper into certain areas. Please choose from the recommended reading list based on your weakness. ThaiVedic is a holistic system and as such a little bit of knowledge in all areas will allow you to be more effective. Example areas of knowledge include Anatomy, Thai Massage, Ayurveda, Yoga Therapies etc. Please visit this page to see the full list of recommended readings.
4. What does the daily schedule look like?
The daily schedule runs Monday through Saturday, with Sundays off. The daily schedule generally runs from sunrise until sunset, as we would like to align with the Vedic time clock. The schedule may vary, depending upon the flow of the training, as well as the needs of the group. Class schedule is approximately: Sunrise to 8 A.M, followed by group breakfast. Next class 9.30 A.M. -12.30 P.M, followed by group lunch and free time. The last class will be held from 3 - 6 P.M. and followed by group dinner.
5. Are there any pre-requisites to join this training?
Ideally, participants would have a minimum of two years regular yoga practice, as you will be better prepared for this intensive training. This is also so students can also get the most out of the training. For a full list of pre-requisites of the training, please head over to this page.
6. What’s the maximum number of students that can enrol in the training?
We can only accept 26 students every year for the 200hr Yoga Therapies Training Bali, as we would like to make it intimate, intensive, and be able to provide every student with support. Because of this limited number, our training has always been fully booked.
7. Is there any payment plan for the course? I think I will have difficulty affording the course in addition to flights to Bali.
A payment plan is possible. As all profits of the course are shared evenly by our teachers; it may be difficult to have all teachers agree to have your fees deducted from their share until a later date. The immediate solution to this is that we will prioritise students who can make a full commitment through paying the full amount, and if there is any spots left on the course, then we can talk with the other teachers regarding a payment plan.
8. What happens if I pay now, and become ill next year? Is it possible to get the money back?
Due to the logistics required for planning an International Yoga Teacher Training, we apply a refund policy as calculated below (exclude the 10% non-refundable deposit):
Notification received more than 60 days prior to the training: 70% fee refunded minus US$ 100 administration fee*
Notification received 31-60 days prior to the training: 50% fee refunded minus US$ 100 administration fee*
Notification received less than 30 days prior to the training is non refundable.
Please note in extreme circumstances we are open to discussion; we care about your health and your education. In such circumstances we could also consider moving you to a later training based on availability.
In the unlikely event that the Teacher Training gets cancelled, the cost of the course you paid will be fully refunded*.
*Please note that this refund policy pertains only to the course cost - Other costs such as transportations, flights, visas etc. are the responsibility of the student.
